EAASSG’s constitution

EAASSG has a lot of support from churches.  However it is a secular organization and does not endorse or espouse any statement of faith.

EAASSG Trustees

Common Ground is a drop-in centre.  We:

  • support some 50 destitute ‘failed’ asylum seekers with £10, some food and toiletries each week.
  • have a store with clothing, household goods, toys, books free for any who need.
  • give general support on any issue a client may raise.
  • respond to crises, not least at the point at which a person is made destitute.
  • support asylum seekers through the New Asylum Model and those who have legacy cases.
  • refer people to a wide range of services in the fields of law, health, education, employment, volunteering, child care.
  • advocate for clients where the system finds it hard to hear their case.
  • host 2 computers with internet access
  • hold regular drop-in sessions for workers from other agencies (to help when people gain leave to remain, for their physical and mental health, responding to racist incidents, getting into school, training and jobs)
  • offer tea, coffee, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere
