East Area Asylum Seekers’ Support Group is a registered charity.

 

We work primarily from premises in Walker, in the east of Newcastle upon Tyne, called Common Ground.

 

Common Ground has:

A store of second hand clothes and household items,

Internet access,

Support, help and advice,

Tea, coffee and a warm welcome.

 

Common Ground is open to asylum seekers, refugees and local residents alike.  

 

Here everyone is valued equally and each person is treated individually.

Our core work is to offer emotional support. Its foundation is to regard each person with dignity and respect.
